Jason Ader Professional History
30+ Years of Gaming & Hospitality Finance Experience
Jason Ader's professional history represents one of the most comprehensive careers in gaming and hospitality finance. Over more than three decades, he has progressed through the industry's major professional roles, building expertise in equity research, corporate governance, and institutional investment management.
Bear Stearns & Co. - Senior Gaming Analyst
Ader began his career in equity research at Bear Stearns, where he became the firm's senior gaming analyst. His coverage of gaming equities earned him the #1 ranking by Institutional Investor magazine for 10 consecutive years, a distinction that placed him at the top of Wall Street's gaming research community.
During this period, Ader's research covered the full spectrum of the gaming industry, from traditional land-based casinos to emerging online platforms, across U.S. and international markets. His analysis informed institutional investment decisions during some of the industry's most significant transformations, including the opening of Macau to foreign operators and the consolidation of major U.S. gaming companies.
Las Vegas Sands Corp - Board of Directors (2009-2016)
Following his transition from sell-side research, Ader served on the board of directors of Las Vegas Sands Corp for seven years. LVS, founded by Sheldon Adelson, operated some of the world's most recognized integrated resort properties including The Venetian Las Vegas, Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, and multiple properties in Macau.
Ader's board tenure coincided with Las Vegas Sands becoming the world's largest hospitality company by market capitalization. His governance responsibilities included oversight of operations across three continents and multiple regulatory jurisdictions, providing firsthand experience in the complexities of international gaming operations at the highest level.
SpringOwl Asset Management - Founder & CEO
Ader founded SpringOwl Asset Management, an SEC-registered investment fund focused on the gaming and hospitality sector. Through SpringOwl, he applies his three decades of sector expertise to institutional investment decisions in publicly traded gaming companies worldwide.
Key investments through SpringOwl include involvement in the Bwin.party takeover (now Entain Plc), investments in Stars Group (now Flutter Entertainment), and Playtech. The fund's sector-specialized approach leverages Ader's unique combination of research, governance, and investment experience.
Career Arc: The progression from analyzing companies (research), to governing one (board service), to investing in many (fund management) represents a professional development path that few gaming finance professionals have completed at this level. Each role built upon expertise developed in the previous one.
